First meeting

Be prepared to discuss the following for your essay:
Priorities - initial ideas, topics, possible approaches, research question(s), ethical considerations
Possible guiding questions (with thanks to Kosta Lekanides, The Extended Essay Companion)

• Why have you chosen this topic as the focus of your RQ?
• How is your question appropriate to the chosen subject?
• Why is this RQ worthy of investigation? (ie. why bother doing this EE?)
• What primary and secondary sources will you use? (NB. some subjects require one or a combination of these).
• What issues or concerns are you already aware of in this topic?
• How much material seems to be available to support such an essay?
• What sources do you think may be useful, and why?
• What might be some problems that you foresee encountering?
• Are there any ethical considerations you need to take into account?  How will these affect your research?
